Tate Britain

Yesterday afternoon, I visited the Tate Britain for the first time. It was a nice art museum and much smaller than I was anticipating (you could easily get through it in an hour's time). Out on the front steps, there was a part of the large London student rally that was in the process of disbanding. This is "reading week" for the majority of UK schools, so there was a large rally organized to fight the rising tuition fees (in the UK, they have a government-mandated tuition cap in place which is about to change). You can read more about the demonstration here. Here are some pictures from yesterday:

I'm standing on the left, taking the picture.

This jet was suspended from the ceiling by a cord.

My love of all things Monet continues with "Claude Monet Painting by the Edge of a Wood" by John Singer Sargent.

  1. Why is everyone upside-down in one of the pictures? Am I missing something?

  2. Mom, it's a picture taken into this reflective plate thingy that does weird things to the reflection. (You're upside down until you get really close to it!)

  3. Oh, OK. I think I kind of understand (IE: Daddy does.) Stay safe! Love, Mom
