Welcome to UCL

I (finally) took my camera out today to capture my walk to and from campus, so that y'all can get a glimpse of my new neighborhood and school! Unfortunately, it looks like the blogger isn't going to let me add more than two per post, so here's a preview of UCL:

This is UCL's main quad. You might recognize it from The Mummy Returns (when it posed as the British Museum, which coincidentally I happen to pass on my walk to school). From what I've been told, it was also in Inception (although I've yet to see that). Today, there was a big "Freshers' Fayre" (American translation: Freshman Fair) going on, so it was swarming with bright-eyed eighteen year olds.

This is the Jeremy Bentham House, otherwise known as the UCL Faculty of Laws. (Yes, they put an "s" on law, just like on math.)

  1. I am so happy that you will walk by the British Museum EVERY DAY. Please remember this is where the Magna Carta lives today! The museum was closed when we tried to go, so you are now in charge of taking a picture, and sending it to me, so I can show my students a "live" picture of this historic document. (Also, please remember that since the museum was closed that day, we spent all my Starbucks gift cards, buying 5 coffees.) Ahh . . . poetic justice . . . Love you!
