6. Catching your favorite band playing... for free. And standing 5 feet away from them whilst* they play your favorite songs.

Why, hello there. Fancy seeing you here. (Taken from my camera phone)
This happened to me last week. One of my favorite bands, Razorlight, decided to busk (play in public, for tips) at Saint Martin's in the Field** to raise money for The Big Issue. I had been having an internal battle with myself, trying to decide whether or not to pay 40 pounds to see the band in concert later on in the summer when I got an email that they were busking at 5 that night.
If you have ever been to England, you might have been passing a person on the street corner who probably looked homeless and yelled in your direction "Big Issue! Buy your Big Issue!" Well, this is a charity here that gives people without jobs the opportunity to sell magazines to the public for cash. It works as an alternative to begging.
The next thing I knew, Razorlight was saying that because they did not have any speakers set up, we should just crowd around them so we could hear the songs better. This led to a large mob of fans singing along with the band, and was truly one of those "I can't believe this is my life" kind of days. It seems those happen so often in this crazy, amazing city.
* "Whilst" is addictive.
** If you remember, this is the church that I took a photo of early in the year. It is right off of Trafalgar Square and has a Carolina Blue clock face on its tower (gorgeous!).
