What I love about London

1. The tube newspapers

Riding the Tube has made me remember the value of a real newspaper. For practical reasons, in the last few years I have stuck to mostly internet sources for my news. Going directly to the papers' sites is not only free (most of the time), but I can access them anywhere I have internet access.

But the free newspapers on the Tube have taught me the value of a paper copy of the news. Every morning, The Metro is handed out outside of several Tube stations for the morning commuters. It is entertaining and just long enough for a 30 minute ride. Didn't pick one up? No worries, most Tube riders leave them on the seats (or behind them) after finishing, so you can pick one up! In the evenings, the London Evening Standard is circulated, filling in any gaps of what happened in the city since that morning.
