Clerkenwell

Today I went on a walk in the Clerkenwell district (I live on the cusp between the Clerkenwell and Bloomsbury districts), and took my camera along with me. Clerkenwell is a lovely area, with lots of wonderful secret corners to discover. My "Not for Tourists Guide to London" (thanks, Aimee!) describes Clerkenwell as "London's own little village, only without the cricket team and middle-class wife swapping. At its heart is Clerkenwell Green, an old-time square that pops up in Dickens (only the nice bits of his books, mind; the grim workhouse stuff he must have got from elsewhere)."
